GIFs have become one of the main sources of internet entertainment. It’s partly because it sits between an image and a video. A GIF, or Graphics Interchange Format, is amongst the many things we should be thankful for in the 21st Century. It is used to express a multitude of things. Moreover, they hog less space.
GIFs are heavily used on social media in the form of funny memes. Twitter is high on GIFs. But those who use Twitter would know that it converts GIFs to video files to make the site faster, GIF can be saved as an mp4 file. This becomes tedious when you don’t want to share an mp4 file. I have listed a few methods through which you can save GIFs from Twitter.
How to save GIFs from Twitter to your phone
There isn’t a direct way to save GIFs from Twitter to your phone. So all the methods listed below will be a bit zig-zag.
1. EZGIF.com
Of course, a website is my first choice. It’s simple and easy. Also, it’s the only functioning website that lets users download Twitter GIF. To use this method, open the GIF on Twitter you’d like to save. Now copy the URL of the tweet. Open your phone’s browser and type https://ezgif.com. Now got to GIF Optimizer and paste the GIF’s link. Click on upload and once the GIF is optimized, simply download it.

2. Tweet2gif

This is the best Android app that you can download from the Google Play Store. Keep in mind that you’ll have to give media access or else the app won’t function. Now launch Twitter and open the GIF you want to save. Tap on the share button. Now click Tweet2gif. Paste the link of the GIF and click on Download GIF. The GIF is now saved on your phone. There’s another way. Copy the link of the GIF from Twitter, paste it on the app’s URL space and click on Download GIF.
